I have lots of Sedum spurium. It is very low (about 4" max) and turns deep red through the winter. Durring the sumer it is dark green. It is very handsome in a rock garden. I can send you a large clump in exchange for your ferns. Do you know variety of fern they are? Alternatively, I might also be interested in your woodland geraniums if you know the variety.

ferns look like Christmas ferns but are nativer here. Geraniums also grow wild in our woods.

Shirley-
I have mutiple potted plants of sedum sarmentosum. It makes a great groundcover in a rock garden, and is hardy in your zone. It flowers yellow.
Here is a picture in the database: http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/17276/
I'd be interested in your woodland geraniums.

ps-I also have a fabulous rock garden plant that you might like: cymbalaria http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/23376/

It makes a great rock garden plant, or hanging basket plant, or even between paver stones. It is very hardy, and blooms constantly with the cutest little purple flowers.

Seedpicker,

In the plantfiles it says that cymbalaria doesn't do well in high heat and that it like constant moisture, Does it do well for you in TX? I love crawly dangly plants - but not this year!

I would be willing to trade purple ice plant for the woodlnd geraniums, if they are available. It starts very easily from cuttings and spreads like crazy here. When the sun is on the foliage (can you still call it that?) it sparkles like covered with frost, thus, the "ice plant."

LMK, and thanks-

Jessica
