I have started a little shaded area at the side of my house where I am experimenting with propagation , some canna seeds , rooting cuttings , dividing gingers ground orchids, EEs and philodendrons, all seems to be going well so far and I wanted to try a cutting from my petrea which is in in bloom right now, its a very woody vine and was wondering how to go about getting and starting a cutting.
Thanks Neil

Sorry I don't know but it's gorgeous!
Is all of it woody? On vines I take one of each, woody and green. I have found on vines, that slightly green seem to be the best. I too am experimenting. so far I have out of several cuttings got a rangoon creeper to take.

Very nice, Neil!

Neil, You might also try pinning a stem to the ground (still attached to the mother plant) with bobby pins or
florist pins and see if it will root at that point.
Also take cuttings, hardwood and soft and try in plain perlite
and in straight vermiculite. The hardwood cutting would probably need
some of the woody plant hormone rooting powder.
Keep them out of the sun and maybe try a see thru plastic dome to increase humidity in the pots of cuttings.
Just a few things to try and if you're successful, please let us know what worked for you.
