Rockwool Questions

South West, LA(Zone 9a)

I need to buy some but can't find any in my area. Im a bit confused (as usual) on what would be best for starting brug seeds. When I see the pics you all post of it just looks like mush in a container LOL! Where Ive looked online they have cubes and blocks in several sizes and some other long things with holes??
Also where do you all get it from?
Thanks

FWIW, I prefer the smallest rockwool cubes, I think one inch, the ones I have had a 'breathing space' on the bottom but it was not mentioned in the 'description'. I hate the 2 inch size and the block size for seedlings, for me, but the blocks are good for cuttings, IMO. I buy rockwool from eBay. Good luck!!!!!! In your zone/area, you should not have many, if any, problems...

I start all my seeds in the 1 inch RW cubes that come in sheets of 200 that fits perfectly onto a common seedling tray.

The place that I order mine from have them on sale right now.

I used rockwool for the first time ever this year. Heard about it here. (Thank You Very Much). It worked great. I am very impressed with rock wool. I ordered it from

www.bghydrom.com

Now I will use it for all my seeds. I was having alot of trouble with damping off and this has solved my problem so far. I got the 1inch cubes that come in a sheet of 200.
Hope that helps
