Creamsickle 2006

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

This Creamsickle is Fablous, it had one bloom that had 3 skirts and it was so pretty I hated to see it go. What a wonderful brug and to think as the blooms age the are almost the color of the Creamsickle we enjoyed as children.
I had to lighten this photo up a bit as it was pretty late in the day when I could get out and get it, so it started out somewhat dark.

Dee that is past fabulous, it's a show stopper & just yummy!! I've always thought it's a shame that the blooming time of brugs is so unpredictable that it is almost impossible to use them in weddings - can you imagine an alter filed with your Creamsickles, wow, what a sight that would be...

One of the names of angel's triumphs is the mexican wedding flower .
The story was the father told the young man when that plant flowers you can marry my daughter , That night he cut it down , and stuck the plant in a hole and covered the old trunk , 2 weeks later it had flowers , the couple disappeared for a year . The young man had cut down another angle's triumph and stuck it in the hole where father had put orginal plant . when the orginal trunk flowered a year later the man , his wife went to see father with twins one was old plant cut down and one was the one the young man stuck in hole .
My spanish is really bad and this was what I heard , probably not what was said .

Dee, I was given a Creamsickle but it has verigated leaves. Does yours have verigated leaves or solid? I can't wait until it blooms. Looking forward to it.

I love Creamsickle also Dee, especially when it changes to the orange color.

Tony that is so funny! So it is the wedding plant. In Mexico, are there a lot of brugs all over? Which colors?

Beverly, I can't wait to see what you get when your variegated brug flowers. Creamsickle is not vareigated. So yours was mismarked or maybe it was from a sport.

Thanks all for the comments, I am just in Love with this bloom. It is huge and the fragrance fills the entire back yard.

I had this planted in the ground and we are planning on moving this year so I am not taking a chance I dug it up and put it in a 35 gallon Half Barrel. Wow was that a chore and it took me most of the evening to get done. I had to wrap the ball of the root and try and keep as much dirt on as I could. It has been in it's new home 2 days now and so far it dosen't even look like it was touched. All the leaves are still nice and crisp and the blooms are still on. It has dropped most of the newest buds but there will be more coming later.

I agree with Kell, Beverly, Creamsickle is not varigated so you must have...........hummmm, Peaches and Cream, Snowbank or something along those lines, I think that is the only 2 varigated, I know they are pretty and I really like them..... Send some photos when you can I would love to see what you have. Does the bloom change colors at all....
The photo is of my "Snowbank"
