Awanda - Jedi Master with H. cv. Isabella!!! I am quietly proud as she is my Granddaughter...only a year and a half and cute as anything (aren't they all?).
Hey, this was fun...we will have to do it again....soon.
In fact...I went out to make a cutting to start as promised...and the spent flowers look like (shhh, not too loud) maybe there will be seed pods....????? So I can't cut yet until I see if we won't have seed pods... Wouldn't that be a GAS!!!
Off to a Hoya Adventure on Tuesday - Meeting SandyC in Portand. We will drive thru Winston to meet Marla whom I know from Hoyas, then on to spend the night with Ms.Kitty. From there we will go to Margie Stones and then on to Ann Waymans for the night and lots of hoya babble. Then to the beach where Sandy and I will stay with my favorite Uncle in the world...(and my only one!!!) , then back to Portland where Sandy flies back to Idaho and I go up to Washington State to visit with my son and darling Isabella.... We will be in touch....
TTFN
....and the winner is....
Congratulations Awanda.

Please take photos so we can see your beautiful faces together! Have a great time!
Oh, waaaaaaa! I am just thinking about all the lovely hoya you are going to see at Margie's and Ann Waymans!
I bought some cuttings from Margie a couple of years ago and I think the H. pubicalyx Fresno Beauty is going to bloom soon. Got a tiny peduncle starting.
Be safe and PARTY!
Aw shucks, I would like to thank all of the "little" hoya people who voted for me:-) Please, please no autograph's or pictures:-). I will take extra good care of cv. Isbella.
Blessings,
Awanda aka JM & proud new owner of a cv. Isabella cutting

Heeee Heeee ... I hope, when they get here, that neither of them are on their best behavior!
Whew...and I was afraid Ms.Kitty was expecting well behaved Senior Citizen with a younger side kick.
Hide all the babies and all the old ladies......
Congratulations Awanda, darn I forgot to vote. But I guess there was no need.... Very pretty name for a beautiful flower.
Ann & Carol just wanna warn ya about Sandy... DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, give this girl any booze, of any kind........ Unless you have a doggy bed for her to sleep on... LOL LOL LOL Oh shoot I'm sorry... Please don't forget my hoys list, I wont tell them any more secrets. You all have a fun time, make sure you keep the cell phone charged up!!!!
Hummmm----What hoya list ????? I did change my cell # !!!!!!
Oh Oh Oh...........I didn't tell all.... Just that you like doggy beds..... You must have changed it quick I just talked to you.... I'm sorry...... :( Better go so I can call ya again, I think I found another one I need..........
Congrats Awanda !!!
:)
Well, Well, Well...booze and doggy beds, hmmmmmm Sandy? What kind of booze and what kind of doggy bed? Would a cat bed be good enough? I'll make sure to stock up (on booze, that is)!
Teee Heeeeee,
Ann
No worries Ms Kitty...I am bringing my choke chain... A gentle scratch behind the ears may settle her down....eh?
I happen to know that Sandy stopped dancing on tables and scaring babies a few years ago after serious intervention. She actually tolerates cats...as long as we throw her a bit of raw meat from time to time..she's controllable. God love her....she is actually GREAT!!
Carol, that's just what I was hoping to hear! Although, it would be fun to see her scaring the babies while dancing on tables. I say, leave the choke chain at home -- it leaves too many marks...
No No No... The deal is she doesn't drink booze, we made the mistake of drinking some mixture and made our selves sick....... I think we only had one. Now we stick to our tea....The only time you need a choke chain is when she spots hoya in HD, it's a race to see who gets to the plant section first...... Didn't mean to be miss-leading about the booze.... Your safe...
That's good to know Tami, because the HD in Eugene is supposed to get a HUGE shipment of hanging houseplants tomorrow (on the day of Carol & Sandy's imminent arrival) - I'll bring two choke chains - one for each of them!
Ann
Ann,
Very Good Idea... What a perfect day to get a shipment in. You may need whips too!!!! Oh gosh I hope they have some gigantic multiflora...... Have a great time..
Tami--You really do not want your Hoya mule to be chained down "DO YOU" ???
Down Girl!
Oh yea, never thought of that. No choke chains or whips, wouldn't want you to get harmed until your done hoya shopping !!!
Sisto,You should fly in and join us...............
OOPS that last post didn't come out right.... I really don't want you to get harmed at all.... I wish I could, just can't do the flying thing right now.. ;,( Besides they really would have to use the chokechains on me. I would be a hoya hunting maniac... I would scare small children and older ladies... !!!! You better get packed.... Oh yea, and don't forget your cell phone.. I will be calling every hour.. :) Oh yea don't forget my list, and don't forget my trillium bulbs..... I really should have went.......!!!!!! And tell Dena hi...... HURRY...........
Hey Carol did cv. Isabella have seed pods? I am anxiously waiting for my cv. Isabella to arrive. I wll post pictures when I receive it!!
Blessings,
Awanda
No, alas...no seed pods formed. Guess we don't grow the right kind of ants!!!
I have cv. Isabella in a propagating mode...alas...not rooted yet. Except for cv. Ruthie...the little trollop...many Eriostemmas take a while to root, I find. I must admit (hiding my head in shame) that I didn't strike the cuttings until I returned as I didn't want to disturb any possible pods...so when I found NONE...I struck them when I returned. I won't send your cutting until I see new growth coming out the top node...then I will know it is 'done'.
Funny...the ONLY hoya to set pods for me is the H. australis and that one errant pod on the H. heuschkeliana that Tami got. I find that strange.....
Yes, especially since Ric in Florida is getting seed pods all over the place and Fl. doesn't have any better conditions that Hi. for hoyas. I guess you need that strange beetle like bug he refers to with the purple wings.
