I just LOVE the big blooms on these 'sunrise' when they bloom. They are bigger than either of it's parents. I wonder why that is???
They also smell even BETTER. The plant is really hardy and grows fast too. What is not to like about this plant?

Beautiful and vigorous H. cv 'Sunrise'
I have been trying to add more pics but for some reason, they are not showing up. Anyway, I will try tomorrow to send some more pics of these bloomers.
Marcy
I couldn't agree more! Mine is a year old and soon it will have its second round of flowers and even more are on the way! However, my lacunosa is quite bigger than Sunrise... Will try to post photo of both when they bloom together. They have both umbels that seem they could bloom at the same time. Perhaps even obscura might make it.

Another beauty!

Marcy must be the time of the year, my cv. sunrise has bloomed too!! Nice picture!

Marcy, how do you take care of cv. Sunrise to get it that lush?
Ann

My little Sunrise has only bloomed twice (so far!) but I did notice that the flowers closest to the window got a little pink last time too. My lacunosa has the same thing and so does my obscura, so I guess it runs in the family! My Sunrise gets quite a lot of sun and that's probably the "reason" for the pink ones.
Christina
I agree with Christina about that. My lacunosa also gets a little of pink on "the sunny side" so if you move it so it sits in the sun you'll probably will have pink on the edges. My lacunosa sits in a west facing window and gets sun only a couple of hours a day but that seems to be enough to get at least a litte pink on the edges.
Christina: I can't believe what great pictures you take! wow
Thank you, Betsy! I enjoy taking them!

HHmmm - I just had a thought.....Since my camera doesn't have the capability of taking these incredible close-up pictures like you all seem to have.....do you think if I went out and bought one, it would inspire my hoyas to BLOOM?! I would do almost ANYthing to get flowers like I've been seeing here lately! =0)
Wow...your lacunosa makes much bigger flowers than mine. My 'Sunrise' flowers are bigger than either parents. Strange.
Marcy
Beautiful picture, Christina!!
As usual, great photo's. I will go buy another camera if my obscura will bloom for me.... I don't know whats up with my sunrise, she is growing really fast but she dropped both of her peduncles. Marcy your plant is so nice and healthy looking, what kind of light do you give it?
I have several of these in different places. The one with the big blooms was growing in a west window. There is another outside getting morning sun that it growing even better & about to bloom. The little one under lights is also doing great. They are just good growers I guess.
Marcy
You take amazing pictures Christina! It is really interesting to see sunrise with its parents. :-)
