Does she look okay to you?

This is my first brugmansia, Peaches & Cream. I bought it last fall. It was in a either 1-gal or 2-gal container until last week, when I transplanted it here. We don't get super warm here (it's only about 58deg F right now) although I've put this in a sheltered spot with some daytime southern exposure so it's warmer than the ambient temperature, and it gets shade in the later afternoon. Should I be expecting more at this point of the year? I know there are so many factors.... just curious what you all think. As I said in another thread, I think I might have spider mites, and I've bought a product to treat them, but don't want to do it until the sun goes away.

Thanks for any words...

Don't wait for a cloudy day. Just go ahead and spray after the sun goes down or when she is in the shade. Once the spray is dry, the sun won't hurt it. The sooner she is treated, the sooner she will start looking better. I hope she blooms her little head off for you this summer.

Okay, so here I am six weeks later! No mites.... and she looks lots better, but still no blooms. I'm upping the fertilizer ~ maybe that will help.

And one more thing for the experts! Do I let the new shoots at the base of the plant continue to grow? Thanks in advance for the info.....

If you want a single trunk with an umbrella of flowers, you rub everything off below the first Y. If you want a bush, you can let it grow all the extra's. Feed her a couple of times a week and she will reward you. Watch for broad mites. They make the foliage thick and crisp feeling, especially at the growth point. You can't see them easily or at all, with the naked eye. She sure looks a lot better. Here's hoping you see buds before long.
