It's very pretty [love variegated plants!] and the flavor is good too! This one doesn't flower, so it's a 'year round' basil. You have to treat it as a tender perennial, but it's hardy zones 9-11. Also got a lemon verbena [couldn't find that one anywhere] and since they were a bit back ordered, they sent me a bush basil for free! Nice people and plants at alwaysummerherbs.
Just got my Variegated Basil!
sounds wonderful!
I've got some purple basil started this year, will plant it out in a week or so... Here's an interesting small-leafed purple basil that I grew last year. The cuttings I took from it didn't make it through the winter, but fortunately DeBaggio's had another for me last weekend! By the end of summer, the leaves were more green than purple but still very striking, and the little plant had grown to about 30" tall!
Verry pretty! There sure are alot of different basils out there!
The different varieties really are fun... I put some of my favorite Italian Genovese in the veggie garden with the tomatoes, but the other basils get scattered around in various beds since they are just such fabulous "edible ornamentals!"
