Well, I have been watching this Robin for a couple weeks now, she is nesting on my porch, between the window frame and air conditioner. This first pic was taken about a week ago.
OT/ My Robins nest!
Awwww, they are so lovely!
At the moment I am rehabbing two thrasher babies and one egg. Someone cut a tree down and they lost their nest. They have to be fed every hour for 14 hours a day.
I am going to take some photos and post them.
Wow! I can't imagine hand raising them. I see Mama in and out, all day long.
Bet you have your hands full!
Janis
Janis, at least they are older, have all feathers, so i only feed them every hour. when they are younger, they need to be fed every 1/2 hour.
OMG. every half hour? I have raised kittens on a bottle, and I thought they were time consuming!!

Janis those are the pretiest blue eggs I've ever see. Darling babies ! How sweet of the Mom to have them there and share their birth with you ! Thanks Janis for sharing your joy with us !
Can't wait to see your little darlings to Anna !
I feel protective of them Allison :) I have to keep the kids away from them, they want to look at them all the time. I take pictures when they are at school to show them :)
Janis
Good learning experience for the kids too ! Can they take the pictures for show in tell at school !
Never thought about it but that is an excellent idea!
Thanks Allison

thanks for posting, I always heard about "Robin's egg blue" but I don't recall ever seeing robin's eggs. How cool.
We have tons of mourning doves here and they will nest just about anywhere. In my last house they liked to nest in one of my hanging plants- because it was high we couldn't see down into the pot to see the eggs or the babies after they hatched...I did climb up on a chair to look in once but it freaked the mom and dad out so I decided it wasn't a good idea. We only saw the babies after they were kicked out of the nest when they looked like smaller versions of their parents. It was exciting, but not as exciting as your robins!
I'm like you April I knew the eggs were blue but don't think I've ever seen in person maybe a book. But nothing like these ! The blue is so pretty . Isn't it something how their eggs are such pretty blue ! And the birds are s darling !
How sweet Jan ! Thanks for sharing !
what a wonderful thread! ooohhhhhhhh those eggs are so pretty! i remember as a little girl visiting my cousin and seeing robin eggs in a tree near their chicken houses. i haven't seen any robin eggs since. you are lucky to have them!
jan wow look at all those eggs! i have never seen a small bird with so many! that mama is going to be busy with all those babies!
anna such wonderful work you do!
Great photos! You have a good vantage point for watching those little robins!
I have seen nest boxes with clear backs that are meant to be suction-cupped to a window like a bird feeder.... Neat idea, although I suppose the window would get pretty messy... but wouldn't that be cool to watch! You could put up 1-way film so you could watch them without disturbing them (they may come with this kind of backing; can't remember).
Jan, I love your wren nest! My parents have a wren that regularly nests in a hanging basket on their porch.... fun!
Jan, love the wrens!! I didn't realize that they had so many eggs either! I should have gotten a picture with something for size compairson in the pictures, the egss are really tiny. I zoomed in as close as I could so they are much larger looking than they really are.
Thanks for all the compliments guys!!

Just received another baby. Tree cut down, two dead babies, on left. No idea of what it is, 1/2 hour feeds.
God Bless your tender kindness Anna.
Thank you Allison. :o))
Anna you are a good peeps.
I love these kind of photos...I have an oriole that has been hanging around my yard, but I'm not sure if there is a nest.
