Stonecrop Sedum for perrenials

Claremore, OK(Zone 6a)

I have Stonecrop Sedum, blooms pink in the fall, to trade for perrenials.

Would love daffodils, bright yellow iris, pink daylilies, but would trade for most any flowering perennail
that's not invasive. Must be hearty for zone 6. Thanks

Peggie, I have some daff bulbs I'd be happy to trade with you!

Hi Peggy,
There was not a picture of the stonecrop sedum in the plant files. Could you discribe it? Rachel

Would you dmail me in case I loose this thead?

I found a pic in plant files for Autumn Joy that looks like it. It's the one from Berrygirl that shows 6 rounded mounds in a circle. I don't know how to post the links yet, but it's in Daves Garden's pics under Autumn Joy Sedum. It blooms with basically the same little clusters of flowers as the other sedums. They are a medium pink, not pastel, not hot pink. But are very pretty in the fall. Very easy to divide and root. They make a very pretty background foliage for flowers during summer and come into their own in fall. Grow in most any soil, like dry, hot conditions. Been a great plant for me. Peggie K

Peggie, how tall does it get? I already have some Autumn Joy...

Claremore, OK

Mine grows into a rounded mound of about 18" x 18".

I thought stonecrop was short, like ground cover, and Autumn Joy is tall, like Vickie said. My Autumn Joy grows maybe just a little taller than 18", say, 24" by the end of the summer.

I may be wrong on the name. I inherited these from my MIL several years ago. But they do look just like the rounded ones in the pic I mentioned in earlier post. They may get as large as 24", I was just guessing on the conservative side, I never have measured them, but they do get large if grown in the right spot. I have had them in all kinds of areas around my home and they grew bigger in some of the areas than others. Wish I could post a pic for you but don't have ability to download it. I don't know how long Autumn Joy has been around, but this variety is probably 10 - 12 years old at least. I can remember my MIL having them at least that long.
Sorry I can't be more helpful here. They do stay rounded and nice shaped rather than becoming tall and scraggly.

Sorry, I meant to describe them as possibly 18" x 18", tall and rounded like a small shrub, not at all like ground cover. And getting as large as 24" tall and wide by end of season. It's a very neat and tidy looking plant that is easy to divide and roots readily. They do not spread per sey, they just get bigger and rounder. Does that help? :-))

Okay, I understand! I have a couple of bunches of that one already, sorry!

Peggy and Flower,
You're both right. There are stonecrops like "Dragons Blood (or maybe Tears)" that are a ground cover. Then there was first 'Autumn Joy' and now a whole bunch of different types/colors of taller ones.
