CLOSED: Have 'Royal Standard' Hosta For Trade

Lafayette, IN(Zone 5a)

I have 4 trades of 'Royal Standard' Hosta, each trade has at least 4 nice sets of leaves (eyes?) or more.
I'm looking for these named TB iris:

Edith Wolford
Victoria Falls
Rapture in Blue
Full Tide
Song of Norway
Sapphire Hills
Honky Tonk Blues

If you don't have these, tempt me with other TB's, Siberian, Japanese, LA, or any medians!

Thanks!

hello irisluvr, I'm sure you know a lot more about tall bearded iris than I do, but I have these that were growing in my yard when I bought the place a couple years ago. I wish I did know the name for them, but I don't, but they are really pretty. They are blooming now, so I have to ask, is it better to wait until they are done blooming to dig some up for a trade?

I could use some hostas on my front porch where it is almost completely shaded most of the time.

Yes, it is better to wait until after they have bloomed. Most iris growers do not ship until July/August because of this. I already have one pretty close to the one you have, but if you want some hosta, I will send one clump for postage. JLMK

Sure, that would be great. Let me know how much and I will send it right away.
Thanks!

irisluvr, I have one trade of Full Tide (would 2 "fans" be considered a trade?), and a couple of others unknown but still gorgeous... one is a very tall/large lavender (I'll attach a pic) and the other is a bi-color with cream/eggshell stands and purple falls (I have a pic of it too if you'd like to see). I'd like all or as much of what you have left as you will send for what I have.... I also have yellow LA iris to spare.

hmstyl, that iris is beautiful, and I'd like some! I can send you starts of a couple of MY hostas for them (in addition to the ones you're getting from irisluvr). I have 'Elegans' (which gets HUGE), regular variegated hosta, 'Wide Brim', 'Frances Williams'.... interested?

gardenergail, that sounds great! I am just starting to get into hosta, so far I have none. I am looking forward to the royal standard from irisluvr. The wide brim sounds really pretty.

as soon as my iris finish blooming I will dig some up and send it out.

thanks so much!

Would love a trade of Hosta 'Royal Standard'. Can I tempt you with any of these? One is a dahlia tuber, which can be sent immediately- I have some other named dahlia tubers if interested. Thanks !!

gardenergail--yes! I would love to trade for Full Tide and the others you mentioned, including the yellow LA. After hmstyl and grannymarsh, there will be 2 trades left and you can have those for the iris. I could probably come up with another RS also.

grannymarsh--I would love to have the Maya Mint for the RS.

I will get these ready to mail out and will leave conf #'s once mailed for everyone.

Thanks to all of you and Happy Gardening!

Cool Beans! Hosta for hmstyl and iris for irisluvr! I'm in the address exchange. Irisluvr, I will send enough of the iris to cover a 3rd trade. If you find one, fine, and if you don't... no prob! Here's a pic of that bi-color....

Gail - those are really pretty!

Thanks, girl! I don't even remember where I got those!

Gail, I love that bi-color! I'm hoping to get them in the mail this weekend, but it might be Monday before that happens. The weather is not cooperating very well at the moment. It has been raining since Wednesday and it is to continue until Tuesday. Sunday may give me an opportunity to get it done. Will keep you all posted!

Gail - you are the best! This is like Christmas in Hosta Land! You are a very generous trader - and I am just thrilled with my package!

Great! I'm glad you were pleased!
