I have this plant for 2 years in a container on my patio. I live in AZ. I feed acidic slow release granules. It is doing very well but has not bloomed at all. How do I make it bloom?
Michelia alba
hmmm, they bloom in our humid weather w/o effort so I am not sure what to suggest, except more hummidity. We grow them in shade to semi shade, is yours getting enough or too much sun?
Maybe something in the fert. is slowing it down from blooming. Have you tried a bloom booster just for kicks? If it really HAS to be acidic...you could put coffee grounds or pickle juice in the pot and foliar feed with a bloom booster. My grandmother used to put garlic cloves in pots with gardenias and they bloomed all the time. Maybe it needs human food? LOL
