Looking for Ruellia brittonia, dwarf Papyrus and curly rush

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I had these overwintering in a shallow trough of pond water in my GH until the breaker tripped one cold night and I lost them....sniffle.

If anyone has starts of any (or all!) I'd love to arrange a swap or SASE.

My tradelist is horribly outdated, so here's a top-of-mind rundown of what I've got available currently:
daylilies (several named and unnamed)
hosta (mostly unnamed, but a few have their tags)
Corsican hellebores
fall-blooming anemones
Various pond plants (yellow hardy waterlilies, Thalia, Saururus cernuus)
....and other items I'd be happy to offer up in trade.

Just lemme know what you're looking for and I'll see what I've got ;o)

(Note: Sorry, but the "haves" I just mentioned are for trade only - no SASE inquiries, please!)

Hi Terry,
I would be interested in Corsican hellebores or fall-blooming anemones. I'll double check on the Cyperus and make sure one is 'Nanus'. Should be because it doesn't get vey big and the other will even hang from a basket. So let me check on species and cultivar for you. What's the botanical name for the curly rush?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Hi Kim - it's Juncus effusus 'Spiralis': http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/55269/index.html

(Zone 7a)

LOL! Ok I know what that is..I only have seeds to this one. But I might can get my hands on some plants. I'll dmail you later on today with specifics.

Terry, you might try looking at Walmart for the curly rush, mine had it in gallon containers for 7 or 8 dollars a month ago.

Terry, is the ruellia you want also called "Katy?" I can send you some cuttings for postage. No promise on what color they are. I have pink, blue and white but none tagged.

princessyfs, that's where I got mine last year (it was actually pot #2, as I killed the very first pot I got at a Lawn/Garden show several years ago.) But unfortunately, our WM hasn't put any out (their lawn & garden section leaves a LOT to be desired - they rarely carry the neat stuff two years in a row....sigh.) I keep looking, but I'm thinking they might have opted to not carry it last year. (Some days I'm really tempted to go offer to volunteer or work in their garden center, because I think if they had someone who knew WHAT they had, and how to market it, they'd sell it by the cartfull instead of neglecting it until it dies....)

Calla, that would be peachy - thank you!!! I think I had either all pink or a mix of pink and blue before (I've slept since it last bloomed ;o) Let me know on the postage, please!

Isn't that just the way with Walmart. I hope you find some:)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Terry, I will take the cuttings Sunday evening and mail them Monday. I'll let you know how much the postage is, probably just minimum Priority don't you think?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Sounds like a plan, Cala - thanks again!!!!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Terry, I have the tall ruellia that gets around 5 ft tall, it has purple flowers on it. I would do cuttings for postage.

Just let me know,

Blessings,
Sandy ^8^

Oh, Sandy - thank you! But I'm afraid I'm looking for the short stuff - and I think the 'Katie' is one of the dwarf 'uns. (And for those of you who have seen my rather "diminutive stature", no shorty jokes, please!!! I realize I left a perfect opening for them *grin*)

Sandy I really appreciate your offer - if I had the room I'd take you up on it. (I'm *NOT* skeered of tall plants, honest!)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

That is ok Terry, I am only 5 ft tall. So I truely understand.

I can't seem to get rid of it so they will be here if you
change your mind.

Blessings,
Sandy ^8^

Terry I have some of the ruellia Brittonia in purple and in pink. Send me a D-mail and tell me about your named daylilies. Names and colors.
