can't find cat in any of my books, is not woolybear as far as I can tell

Hmmm...don't know the cat...but the other photo is lacewing eggs. I get those on a variety of plants.

Lacewings are good guys! The adults eat only nectar but the larva (which resembles a long thin ant lion - or a teeny alligator) chow down on aphids, whiteflies, mites, leafhoppers (I hate leafhoppers), thrips, mealybugs and other insect eggs. They are quite voracious little guys too!

think the cat may be a Giant Spotted Leopard Moth in a younger stage
