This is one of the 7 AVs I ordered from Violet Gallery. It came w/ blossom on and is taking forever to open- I got the plants on/about April 18th. None of the others are blooming yet.

I love the colored undersides myself, it just adds one more dimension to the plant!
Allison I ordered Mermaid, Park Avenue Blue, Maverick's Faded Jeans, Crimson Ice, Happy Harold, Ajohn's Yellow Submarine, Coral Spider- and rec'd Neon Fantasy as a gift! Nice gift as it was one that I like very much!
All of the plants are VERY healthy and look great. The only one that came w/ buds was Mermaid. Coral Spider is quite small, but I will anxioulsy wait for growth and flowers!

Happy Harold- isn't the foliage great? I wouldn't necessarily care if it ever bloomed...kidding, can hardly wait, but the leaves are so pretty.

Allison I think that the one that I have is Mermaid (J. Swift) I got a plant, not leaves and theleaves are serrated, dark green- the bud is not completely open yet so I can't really say that it's fantasy, but the flower is dark..I'd say purple and it is semi-double.
Will post more later, but my grandson is here now.
Coral Spider is a real pretty vintage dates wasp plant great plants you picked out !
I was thinking you got that one but then when Vossner said red back on foliage I was like Medmiad does not have that so I went to see what they were selling.
I know some they said they only had leaves and I ordered leaves sense they had plants they sent me plants.

Their picture shows some fantasy pictures on FC don't but very pretty. Look like double flowers even . But plain foliage on back ?

Hehe tired but good! I have spent the entire day in the hot sun at Chris' palm guys house :)

And I seen some palms that Nan would have LOVED :) Nan..have you ever heard of a wedding palm? He has some for 35.00 and said they make lovely inside plants :) I just loved the look of them :)

I'm so Happy you all got great boxes ! Mine was Ok except for 4 plants , one plant missing, and package of leaves wrong :((

CORAL SPIDER is an awesome Vintage by Dates. I almost ordered it but I could not order everyone lol
They have it as a Semi-miniature which will grow it 6-8 inches at maturity. I thought it was a standard but guess I was wrong.
VG says; CORAL SPIDER (J.Dates) Wasp blossoms that are deeply cut stars, slightly fluted. Medium to dark green. Semiminiature
Yes the picture of it just spoke to me...er ok I need to take more medication, LOL. but seriously, it was sooo pretty. I am sorry it was already budding but I will wait- I will send pics the minute I see I see a bud!

Last Fall I bought a Georgia Melon from them. I gave many leqaves away, and put leaves down. No babies, no blooms :((. Now finaly I am getting babies ! And some other DG friend's I sent leaves to have babies so we will have some Georgia Melon to share ! Last month I got sick of mine not blooming. I took all leaves off except crown and cut almost everything off. Good Spring hair cut ! And re-potted, put more leaes donw.
Guess what now she is blooming !
