asiatic/oriental/hybrid lilies

What do I do with bugs on the lilies? It is dark bright orange bug. I removed them and killed by foot stepping. I have so many lilies. They are there this early morning, it is surprise to me that those bugs already there in cold Maine. I expect them late May. Probably they depend on the weather.

Do you notice anything else on your lilies? This may be the dreaded lily beetle that will eat lilies down to nubbins in short order. Picking by hand gets some. Some people spray with poison.
Another confirming factor is crawling larvae/caterpillars that cover themselves with frass (dung)....very gross. I know there are sites on line and you might check out the lily forum. There are many very helpful and experienced folks there and there have been more than a few threads on the lily beetle.
