Yesterday I was phished re: my paypal account. A "message from PayPal" told me that my account had been frozen due to suspected fraud and that if I didn't confirm my details my account would be closed.
I noticed that the URL was "http". PayPal is always "https", so I opened nothing and sent it to PayPal. They confirmed it was a hoax. Aside from the "https" discrepancy, PayPal also said they NEVER ask you to send them your password...NNEEVVEERR. So, even if I had started to fill in the information, that would be another clue.
I know this is not 'news', but hopefully it will be to someone who would be risking alot not knowing about it.

OT - HEADS UP
Even if it isn't 'news', it's always a good thing to get a reminder ...Thanks,

Thanks for that reminder!!!
I've received the same e-mail but it was sent to my hotmail which is not connected to PayPal. I also forwarded it to PayPal and they confirmed it was a spoof e-mail.

I got a couple from "paypal" saying several thousand dollars had been charged to my paypal account...
I sent it to paypal, and of course it was phishing...they probably wanted me to put in my account password, etc. I didn't read it to find out.
Sure scared me there for a minute, tho...

Got another one today. It sure is discouraging that there are such sophisticated crooks out there!!! Here in Hawaii bank robbing is about as high tech as they get!!!
