Chewie has the WORST habit ... driving me NUTS! I feed him either in a tub on the ground, or a bucket elevated (welded to the stall wall), and either way, he'll throw at least one good portion of his feed on the ground. With the elevated bucket, he'll throw his mouth into it, and swish his head out, pushing the feed out of the bucket with his nose. With the ground-tub, he puts his front foot on the edge, and tips it over, dumping even more.
Feed ain't cheap, and he doesn't eat his whole portion because he can't pick it all up in the sandy dirt in the stall... Changing the stall composition isn't an option, budget doesn't allow for it.
I have a feedbag that goes on him like a halter, but that's not really how I want to feed him if I don't have to.
Any other ideas?
EDIT: I forgot... dental float was done by a real dentist (with a vet standing nearby) about two months ago.. so I don't think it's a dental issue....
