Can someone ID this for me please?

South West, LA(Zone 9a)

I found this In an overgrown area of a Cane field. It had itself all wraped up in honeysuckle. Its a good mile or too away from any houses any I dea how it got there?
Anyhoo I would love to know what it is so I can go rescue the rest on the plants from the honeysuckle. Thanks

Caren, it is Passion flower or some folks call it May Pop. It grows wild here too.

Thank you, Do you know if is well behaved or better viewed in the wild?

San Diego, CA

yes, it is a maypop, a.k.a. Passiflora Incarnata. It can be grown in a container, but it likes to sucker like crazy. If you pull it up, the plant will probably wilt really badly or maybe even die off, but keep the root, and plant it outside in your yard if you have room for it.
