No, but I definitely want one.....at first I was thinking Queen's Tears, if the racines open further....but I think the foliage looks way too soft to be.....Mine opened with pink tracts like that at first....
I'm curious to hear what it is....

Dale....did you know that the South Pacific Islanders use that plant to cure ringworm?

I've been needing to divide and repot it and another similar sized plant of this bromeliad, but I don't have room for four or five of these on my patio. I'd be willing to send you one if you'd pay the shipping. Do you think it would survive?? I've never shipped plants though I have ordered plants through a mail-order company. I have two pots of this bromeliad and they both need to be divided and repotted. My sister-in-law and a friend at work want one, but I feel certain I'll have at least two extras that I could send either one of you if you want one and feel it would survive. Any suggestions on how to ship it????

phughes....I rinse mine very well (little creatures hide in the leaves) ...let it dry, wrap the roots in saran wrap, and the leaves in newspaper to make a long roll, and use the triangular long boxes the post office has.

To dale-a-gardener:

The plant with yellow flower is called "candle tree" (cassia alata). Beautiful flowers, butterflies love them. Mine doesn't get as luxurious as yours, but it does survive in zone 7b. Died all the way to the ground, but recovers when weather gets warmer later in the spring.
