I bought a Pandorea jasminoides at a big box reatiler in Peachtree City. Great looking plant, but i'm worried about the cold hardiness. Everything i've read says it won't do good under prolonged freezes, but we usually only have a couple of weeks (spread out) of hard freezes.
When i do plant it, what can i do to keep it alive during the cold weather? Wrap it in plastic? Cut back and mulch?
It's too good loooking of a plant not to try, but i think i just need to take some precautions
Thanks,
B.
Advice for growing Pandorea jasminoides
Blue, Looks like you bought a tropical vine (USDA zones 9-11) very beautiful but a light freeze will kill it.) May have to treat it as an annual or a container plant. If grown in a container with trellis for support, you may be able to bring indoors during the coldest winter months for protection.
The following link has some information you might find helpful. Good luck.

thank you!!
Guess I'll go get a pot and give my wife another house plant to kill. :/
THanks,

PS, where did you get that info sheet? I liked how the info was laid out. It was very useful.

blue, yes, by all means get another pot. Every time I think I'm done planting, I spot some new "eye candy" at the local nursery and I'm dragging home another pot, container soil, etc... Geez, it never ends.
I google constantly to research plants and related issues. The University of Florida has been a great resource for tropical plants. Our own University of Georgia Agriculture & Environmental Services is also very helpful and lists information in a similar format as
U of Fl.
No, i mean i'll get a pot to plant the Pan. Ja. in as a houseplant and then give it to my wife to kill.
Just kidding, i think.
I was reseaching on the net like you said and came across daves garden, and i've never left.
