Need to cover a new arbor or an eyesore? Trade with me!

Brussels, WI

If you have a new arbor, garden structure or eyesore that you need to cover in a hurry, Hops is your plant. The pods in mid summer are absolutely gorgeous and just think... your husband can make his OWN beer!

I'm looking for perennials for zone 5 that love sun.

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5a)

Hi, I live in zone 5 also. Dmail me to talk about trading. Rachel

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Did you have any perennials in mind? Color? Size?

Brussels, WI

I am really looking for grasses that would be hardy in zone 5. I also love double hollyhocks in any color. However, I am not picky and would love to add just about anything to my garden. If anyone out there has some fiberoptics grass, even though it's not hardy here, I would LOVE to have some of that!

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i love my hops vine its so cool -just potted up a start yesterday!

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how long it would take to grow from seed. I bought some seed for variegated hops. I hoping to cover up an eyesore in my neighbors property. I've never even seen hops growing before except in pictures. This is my first attempt.

Brussels, WI

Sorry Kathyvm,
I bought mine at the nursery, but it definately grows quickly if it is any help. Let me know how it goes. When you have enough to share, I'd love to have some variegated hops, too. Maybe we could trade!

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

I'll see how it grows. I started the seeds late this year. Dmial me later in the summer and I'll let you know how it's doing. I'll see if I can get a start or seeds.

Hi SunLover,

I have ribbon grass if you are interested. I think you contacted me before about trading and I replied, but I did not hear from you again. I could trade a small patch of grass for one of your hop vines. (I'm getting low on the grass with my other trades).

Let me know if you are interested,
Thanks!

Mary,

You will find the address exchange in the extras menu on the top of the page. You will need to add yours before you have access to others.

But here's mine so you don't need to look it up.

For the person asking about how long to germinate seeds. I bought some of the annual ones last year and they reseed heavily. It grows like a weed. I don't know about the perennial vine. But if it reseeds it is just about as good as a perennial.
Mine germinated after about two weeks. I had given up on it. This year it reseeded and was off at the first sign of warm weather. It is over my four foot cyclone fence already.
The perennial may act differently.
