Very good advice, wish I had read this last year. I noticed mealy bugs on my Hibiscus trees and one Hoya, and have been battling them ever since, I am using insecticidal soap and dabbing the little buggers with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. What is this soil drenching they speak of? Being in Canada we are limited as to the types of pesticides available to us. Any help here would be appreciated. LeeAnne

Thanks for your watch care, Allison. I have started treating new plants with insectisidal soap with neem. I also treat my whole collection every 4 to 6 weeks. Prevention can save a lot of heart ache.

I want to mix up some bleach water to put in a spray bottle to use for washing surfaces in my gh. How much bleach do I mix in with the water? What is a good water to bleach mixture ratio?

I mix rubbing alcohol ( instead of bleach) Blue Dawn and I have added even avon skin - sp - soft. I have put it in a hose sprayer and drenched plants outside hibiscus and so on ..
Now Also good to add a couple drops of diah soap to neem oil but the non antibactairial or type that gets rid of greese/oil. I wash drensh the plant and soil .
