Humas from under Pine trees-use it?

Pioneer, CA

I would like to ask for some advice about using humas from under Pine trees. In the back of our property we have dozens of Pine trees, have probably been there undisturbed for 50 years or more.I walked down the hill this week and felt like I was walking on a sponge bed. I removed the needles on top of the soil and underneath it was the greatest humas, black, loose, and smells so good.I used my screen over the wheel barrow and sifted some of it and mulched my Roses with it. My question is, would it be a good thing to dig it into the soil. Would love to use it when I plant veggies.

I have done that everywhere but I shred the needles to speed up the breakdown of the needle product. Soil Ph drops (more acid) when you use pine needles. I have quit using them in my vegetable garden cause my root vegetables are bitter and I am blaming some of it on my pine product.

Thanks Soferdig, I quess this would be a good thing to use then. I rake the needles off the top and just dig down into the compost like matter underneath. I know humus is good for the soil but I wasn't sure if pine was necessarily good.
