I just had my adjoining lot cleared, 20 pine trees cut down and had the stumps ground. Now I'm left with huge piles of pine mulch. I was going to spread it out but was told that if I wanted anthing to grow there that I should have it removed because it would deplete the nitrogen. Is this true? What are my alternatives?
Ground Pine Stumps
Pile you grindings in the corner of your yard, let them rot for two years all the while adding some lime and grass clippings. After the two years composting you can then use this to build your soil. Have a sample tested for nitogen levels prior to using for mulch.
