I grow this for its celery flavored leaves, but some people eat the roots. Anyway, I have 5 volunteers if someone would like to trade for some or all.

Just saw this.I use celeriac for cooking.I would love some.I have Green and Gold ground cover (go to heirloom furum to see it).I also have seedling of Lupines,dill,black snapdragon,digitalis and serveral other thing that I started from seed a few months back.

Is this called cutting celery pins? I use to have some cuttings celery, I think that's what it was called, it was a small version of celery, and the leaves and stems I used in cooking, smelled just like celery, all mine died for some reason, it use to reseed heavily.
how big are your plants? want some of that soloman seal for this ? LOL

Nancy, I would love some green and gold. Where is the best place to plant it? I've tried it a couple of times with no luck, so I must not be putting it where it likes to be.
Kathy, these are already about 8" or so tall. I've never heard of cutting celery, but the stalks look like cerlery, and the leaves look and taste like celery. From what I've read, people like it for the roots. I've never sprayed anything poisonous on it so I eat the leaves and put them in soups. If you would like, I would love to trade them for Soloman seals.

I my green and gold is planted under the live oaks.That is in part shade.It speads but very slowly but it has alot of root competition.I will send it to you either today or tomarrow.
I use the root in cooking.Regular celery is an American thing in Europe the root is used instead.I use for everything I would use celery for.It's hard to find and I pay about $3 for one big bulb.
