Can anyone tell me what these little fellows are? The flower stem is about 3 inches with 1 to 2 flowers which are about 3/4 inch across. I have never seen them for sale in any of the bulb catalogues or in any of the retail outlets. I have only seen them on lawns where they naturalize and spread over the lawn.

I.D. little spring gems
Scilla.
Thank you fancyvan, I have seen lots of scilla bulbs for sale but none of this type. They are very diminutive.
These would be less than half the size of Siberian Squill (Scilla siberica), mamimum hight 3". Do you have any idea what variety of scilla they might be?
Well I think it is probably Scilla Siberica 'Striped Beauty'
Botanus usually has them in the fall catalogue .
Very pretty Ken mine are in full bloom now and will prolly be gone when I get home. In my yard they herald spring.
I love Scilla. Those are some cute little mini's Ken!

I'm a latecomer to Scilla - just the last few years and I'm a convert. I think the first ones appeared in my yard - probably transplanted by neighbourhood squirrels from next door neighbour's yard. I've had crocuses for years - a massive display, but the scilla keep blooming long after the crocuses are gone and bridge the gap nicely to the other spring bulbs. I'm gonna get more although I think they seed rather freely. At least I think the growth around many of mine is baby scilla.
