Shipping cuttings

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi all. I just want a quick refresher course so I can make sure that I do this right.
Fresh cuttings..what is your method for shipping? Cut it, slap a damp paper towel around the cut end, pack it up and ship?
stick it in water until it at least has bumps then ship? What?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I ship mine just cut just like you said in your first scenario. I also then wrap them in a piece of newspaper or bubble wrap to keep them separate.

If it's a real valuable cutting I'm shipping I'll give it some added insurance by wrapping some damp orchid moss (sphagnum) around the cut end and then wrap that in Press 'n Seal or some other clear type plastic wrap before i ship. This is especially a good idea if you ship in the heat of the summer or to a destination where it may take more than two days to arrive.

Write or put tag with name .

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I Tag it, wrap each one in seperate wet paper towel, then wrap bubble wrap or put those foam pieces around them in the box.
