The incessant rain has finally stopped, we've had an entire week without rain, the sun is out, and things are finally revving up.
Here's my Carduncellus pinnatus:
Late April blooms
Here's a closeup of a lovely Dodecatheon bloom:
This Erodium x variabile Flore Pleno has been blooming nonstop since I bought it last April. It never rests.
This is Saponaria x oliviana:
Armeria caespitosa (aka A. juniperifolia):

A nice new PCH iris:
This one could have been a new PCH variety, but it was rejected. It's nice anyway:
And lots of primulas. Nothing rare or special is blooming yet, but I already have lots of nice doubles putting on a show:

Meanwhile, the Soldanella hungarica just keeps blooming and blooming:
Just gorgeous ZuZu! Seeing everyones soldanella, dodecathon, hepaticas, anemonella and primula has got me convinced that I need to expand and revamp my north facing bed so I can try some of these. Or at least finish up a trough or two. How long has the Soldanella been in bloom?
I love that Carduncellus. That big lavender pom pom of a bloom is amazing.
Another ungypsophilalike gypsophila. But very aptly named, and very nice. And I will keep a watch out for Cardancellus pinnatus seed too.

Ally, I took a picture of the first Soldanella bloom on April 10th and it's still going strong today, the 28th.
The Carduncellus is a nice pom pom. It actually might look more impressive when there's only one bloom. Here's a picture of how it looked a week ago.
Zuzu - those plants are glorious! You've grown them all beautifully.

Hi, Tammy. Isn't it great? Spring is back and so is daylight saving time. We can finally stay outside as long as we want. This last week has been so productive. I love this time of year.
Yes spring is a joy! Some very interesting and beautiful plants there Zuzu, many of which I've not seen before. I like the Carduncellus and that lovely iris, and that double erodium... And who says double primulas are nothing special - they are wonderful :)
I hope you don't mind me posting one of my spring beauties Zuzu? This is something I got at
a NARGS chapter sale but lost the tag. I believe its an andrasace but perhaps someone here
can help me get an ID on it?

Where's Todd? He'd be able to identify your maybe-Androsace in a minute. It's very cute. Lovely foliage.
Tam, your Androsace is not an Androsace. Its a mustard of some sort...perhaps a Draba but it doesn't look like any Drabas I've ever grown (mind you there are MANY types of Draba!).
OK. I'll scrounge around to see if I can find any name tags with draba on them. I vaguely recall
seeing one but not in the same area as that little bloomer.
And Zuzu - here's another Late April Bloom. Primula Kisoana
Tammy I'll have to go and check as this is the first year mine have bloomed but that picture looks similar to the Arabis androsace that are just starting to bloom here in my gardens. Great Primula!
I think you are right with that ID...Arabis androsace seems to fit this plant.
I love Primula kisoana, Tammy. Mine are still nothing but leaves. I hope they bloom soon.

but maybe tomorrow morning. Gentiana Verna, several lewisias & Mount Atlas Daisy
are peaking now. (Can't think of the latin name of the latter right now. I'll have to look
it up before I post the pic's).
