Analita tulip

It's amazing that these even bloomed, considering I left them in the basement all winter! Tamara

What do you mean you "left them in the basement all winter'?!! Maybe you have a new technique for growing tulips?! Very cute.

I received them just after I had given birth. I was too tired to think about gardening. I stuck them in my basement (in a separate little room which is colder than the rest of the basement)....didn't even take them out of the box they were shipped in! In early March, I finally unpacked them. Of course, many of the bulbs had rotted. I did manage to salvage a few. So far this is all that's come up. I see a few more peeking through the dirt. It'll be interesting to see which varieties survived such blatant disregard. ;-) Tamara

Oh, I'm so glad you were able to salvage a few and went ahead and planted them in March.

Interesting that they came up at all, much less so prettily! t.

Speaking of surprises....some of the glads and 1 of the dahlias from last year (that I did NOT dig up) are coming back! That's pretty great considering my zone! Tamara
