Hi friends....I just got back from a convention today.
I am the vice president of our local garden club and for the last three days I have been in attendance at our state convention in Springfield, MO. One of the two seminars offered this year at the convention was on african violets. Well.....Dave Harris of 'Dave's Violets' gave two presentations on african violets and I had a front row seat.
I spoke to him before and after the presentation and let him know of all the violet lovers on Dave's Garden. He knew of Dave's Garden...and Lorry he remembered you also. He showed us how to repot a violet, gave us growing hints and his potting soil recipe. Those in attendance had question after question for him and he patiently answered each one. He brought in around 75 violets and they were pretty much sold out by the end of the first session. I told him of our wonderful group and that he would be welcomed as a contributor to our group and that he should join.
Anway...just wanted you to know how nice it was to meet him. By the way, the plants he brought in to sell were fabulous and well cared for.
Oh...one more thing, we are pretty much doing everything he talked about in growing african violets. :)
So happy I got to meet him.

I know he has been on the board before. He said that he looked up his rating on the watchdog. He also came on to check out my posts I made about him.
He really is a doll :)
I just received my order from Dave. I got a few AV's, Episcia and Chirita, and one sinningia. Great vendor! I love his selection, great prices for the size plants and all my plantlets arrived in great shape. I also received a free strep cutting of variegated 'Canturbury Surprise'.

I was glad to meet you at the show on the day of the talk, i hope the members learn something from me. What I like was the first talk you attend their was standing room only during the first talk, then the second talk their was about 1/3 of the room full. I heard from the Orchid side their was a lots of laughing going on in the room during the first talk.
P.S. I knew next time if I gave a talk to your State group to bring more plants.
