Am Daffodil Soc national show

North Brunswick, NJ

Thought I'd post a few pictures from the American Daffodil Society's national show held during their annual convention in King of Prussia, PA (outside of Philadelphia) last week. Here's a pic of most of the collections of five stems - grouped by country of origin, color codes, or division (trumpet, large cup, jonquilla, et al.).

And here are just a few of the vases of three of the same kind.

And here is the stupendous winning entry of 24 different daffodils from at least 5 different divisions. Each one of the 24 is of blue-ribbon quality.

Last is my entry of 'Fragrant Rose', which netted me the Small Growers ribbon (anyone who grows 100 or fewer cultivars can enter the Small Growers section in a national show, but most local shows cut it off at 50). It's the white one with the pink cup, two-thirds up the picture and smack in the middle.

The official number of individual stems entered in the show was 2,667. That's one heck of a lot of daffs!

By the way, could someone tell me how to post a vertical picture vertically?

rrog--you were so lucky to get to the show! and Congratulations! for the small growers prize. Quite an accomplishment!

Maybe if you send your photo to your picture editor (I have microsoft office 'picture manager') you can flip your photo right ways up. (That's what I do). You probably have a photo editor on your computer somewhere.

If you don't, I also like 'Picasa' which you can download for free from 'Google'. A lot of DG posters use 'Picasa'.

Good luck and thanks for posting the pics.
