Plant Tags - bulk purchase, Any Interest?

I am considering a bulk plastic plant tag purchase and wanted to see if anyone is interested in adding on to my order.

(The impetus is that I am tired of being outbid on tags via eBay and this might be a good way to order at a slightly reduced price)

This is not a co-op purchase, and I am hoping to add on orders from only folks I know. I don't think I can accommodate folks from other forums unless I know you. I'm just offering to add on to my own order.

There is a minimum purchase of 1000 tags per color/per size. So no, you can't order 20 of this size or 50 of that size.

Prices start for 3" tags, 1000/$20.55 plus shipping and tax. The more tags ordered per size, the lower the price per 1000 (for example 5000, 3" tags are $18.15 per 1000, not $20.55)
(I'll put the prices of the other sizes in another post)

Sizes available are 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10" in the following colors

3" = white, green, yellow, blue, orange, red
4" = white, green, yellow, blue, orange, red, pink, lavender
5"= white, green, yellow, blue, orange, red, pink, lavender
6"= white, green, yellow, blue, orange, red, pink, lavender
8"= white, green, yellow
10"= white

(this is all assuming that they are not sold out in one particular color/size)

It's possible that if you don't need 1000 tags, you could get together with another and go in together on an order. I am not offering to coordinate that, but you could post here and then contact each other privately to work it out.

The tags would have to be all shipped to my home and then I would ship out from here. I have a paypal account, so I could be reimbursed that way, or via money order. I prefer a money order since Paypal charges me per transaction, unless you wanted to cover that fee. If you absolutely had to use paypal, then we can discuss our options.

I can't tell by looking....but are these the type with the 'rough surface' that you can write on (and erase) with PENCIL or are they the type with the smooth surface (which I find , quite frankly, worthless;) ??

Seems that you can't even write on the smooth ones with a pencil, and pencil is the only writing that I find really lasts....especially oudoors.

And....do you know me well enough to let me in on the order? Ü
(It's OK if not, as there's a nursery around here that has sold me some in the past.)
I surely wouldn't need 1000, though.

As far as I can tell, the surface is a matte type, not shiny, and yes, I know you well enough silly!

Guess I should clarify some other points, not sure If I was clear at first. each person must order a minimum of 1000 (unless you want to pair up with someone who wants half and you want half) Nan is looking for a pair, anyone?

I'm easily going to use a few thousand my self. I need 4" for my begonias and 3" for AV's.
I separated three leaves from their babies yesterday and ended up with 25 babies. So if you figure that I have about 300 leaves down, and each gives even 5 babies, that's 1500 tags right there.

So, just to clarify, each order goes in lots of 1000, the more I order over 5000, the lower the price per 1000. They are only sold in lots of 1000 tags.

Can't do assorted colors, it has to be 1000 per color.

d-mailed nan about a shared order, but might be interested in another order myself. Would that be OK? Greenhouse is starting to get the best of me, I think, so am trying to get prepared for next season.

Budgie, well, yes and no. min. order is 1000 tags one size/one color. All will come to me and I will reship to whom ever ordered.

If anyone wants to split 1000 of the 4" in GREEN, let me know.

Do you happen to know how wide the tags are? If not that's ok, just wondering.

Yes I went with Kell, she posted some pictures further down in this thread in the Rose forum, one of Laurie. I finally got to meet Laurie that night and she recomended several begonias and then it was a race to get other things, so many other plant nuts there!

Hi Gang, I'm alive! Barely, this bug has kicked my hiney! But I do feel better, albeit still fatigued.

I place the order last week, but have not heard back from the company. I requested a ship date (to my house) of 5/8/06, so hopefully they will be here this week or beginning of next. I'll email everyone with their totals and shipping etc as soon as I get the invoice with their confirmed shipping method.

Sorry to not check in earlier, but I literally didn't get out of bed from Friday night after the sale (by the time I got home from San Francisco, I was running a fever and could almost not even swallow) until Sunday afternoon. I made myself get up to water plants and babies who were bone dry =(

poor little things. Then Monday and Tues I checked a few email and tried to catch up on watering some more and house work. Trying to rest as I could since I had Wednesday back at the arboretum greenhouses (yesterday) and wanted to feel good enough to go. It's a long day on Wednesdays. I felt pretty good because being down there is such pure JOY for me, but let's just say I was in bed early last night! LOL.

Thanks Dr. Ali, I promise to rest, and I've been eating like it's my job! Usually when I get sick I don't want any food but I was craving Indian food all weekend! Chowed down on my favorite Saag Paneer and basmati rice!!

I'll update you all on the order as soon as I know myself. I may try and call the company today and see what's up. I have over 300 email in my inbox since I was sick and didn't get to all my email so there might be some news buried in the inbox, I just have to check.

Hey Gang, update. Tags just arrived via UPS. For those that ordered 4" WHITE tags, they are backordered, but have shipped out on the 9th so they should be here soon.
