Questions about an ovarian mass

novi, MI(Zone 6a)

Hi everyone
My MIL was diagnosed with having a mass on her ovary (possibly a cyst), over 3 mos. ago. At that time, the hosp. said it was about 3 cm, and should see a specialist about removal the next day.
She called the GYN they had put on her discharge papers the next morning. The receptionist said she couldnt get in for another 3 wks. I urged her to see my GYN but she insisted on just calling the day after and speaking with the doctor the hosp. referred.
She got in 2 days later.
Then didnt have any tests done for over a month. She then had blood tests, colonoscopy, and had another ultrasound- which they said the mass was the size of a baseball.
Then we waited another month for a surgery date. There was another ultrasound or ct scan (not sure) which the doctor then informed her that her spleen may be involved and she may need to have Chemotherapy.

Now, I used to be in the medical profession and NONE of this sounds right to me! But i have never dealt with ovarian cancer and done know what she should have expected. BUT this sounds negligent to me!!!

If anyone has experienced with ovarian problems, please post

thanks
Ness
