moving bulbs

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

I have some tulip bulbs I want to move from one area of the garden to another. When's the best time to do this?

Thanks,
Gwen

Gwen, Wait until the foliage turns yellow. That indicates they are going dormant.
You can either re-plant them right away or store them in a paper bag in a cool spot until September.
If you re-plant them right away, do not water them, let nature take care of that. They are sleeping.

What about moving daffodils?

Can't I move them now (with foliage still green) if I do it quickly and have the hole ready? Of will moving them now just kill them off?

(Now I can ID/see/remember what kinds I have where and where they need to go.)

Thanks. t.
