CLOSED: Looking for Turk's Cap

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I had a nice one I received in a trade from someone last year. I watched it grow from a small plant to 6 feet over the summer. When I moved from Lauderdale, I had to leave it behind. It was blooming all summer long and I love that red.

To make the trade a little more desireable, I could take more than one. I have some white butterfly gingers to spare, some celosia argentea spicata 'pink candle'

Please let me know.
Thanks

Thanks Bob.

Molly, I have a small plant already rooted. If you can wait until after May 1st, I'll gladly send it to you. I'm swamped this week, so I can't do it right now.

BTW it's actually called Sleepy Hibiscus, Malvaviscus drummondii http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/56887/index.html I believe that's the one you had because you gave me a cutting (doing great now) . Turk's Cap is a different one, Malvaviscus arboreus var. mexicanus, the flowers hang down and the leaves are different. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1819/index.html

Here is a picture of mine

Edited for spelling, oops

Val,

That would be great!!!!! I guess I got the names mixed up. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't asking for the "lily" one.

How's that purple/burgundy amaranth doing that I so adored? Any seeds yet?

I have some pygmy torch I grew from seeds, some celosia argentea spicata 'pink candle' doing very well. The pygmy torch I evidently grew from seed, put it out before my last trip to Lauderdale and forgot about it. I've been watching it grow in my sedum bed and wondered where the heck THAT came from. Then I found a tag with my writing on it. getting older is so funny, haha.

Let me know if I can send you something too.

I've been getting some nice bare root bulbs/corms or whatever they are from a lady in Tennesee. I found her on e-bay. They are quite inexpensive and very healthy. Her store is Clampam's General Store. She has many different woodland plants, including Turk's cap.

Thanks Nellie, I'll take a look.
