Hi,
I'm new on this forum and just thought I should introduce myself. I live in Sweden and have collected Hoyas for about two years. I have appr. 130 different ones (for the time being...). Many of them are small or still cuttings, but some of them have grown a great deal and even bloomed. My favourite No 1 is H. macgillivrayi.
I see that I have a lot to read and learn here! But first I thought I should start by showing some of my favourites.
Introducing myself...new on this forum

Welcome Lotta!
Glad to meet you.
Ann
P.S. I like your kitty-cat!
Thanks, Ann!
Oh, you mean little "Iker in the calycina"? Yes, isn't she sweet?? She is the funniest, cutest and most kind little kitty-cat you can think of.
Hi Lotta!
Great photos! My favourite Hoya is macgillivrayi too and I have several different clones. I have a peduncle forming on the clone called 'Massey River, Qld.' and hope it matures as the plant is still quite small.
Have you really only been growing Hoyas for 2 years? You have so many amazing, fIowering plants! Were some of these large plants when you got them, or did you start them all from cuttings?
I also grow Epiphyllums among other things and have around 30 different kinds. I mostly the grow the species, partricularly those with a strong perfume to the flowers, but I also have some scented hybrids as well. You have a nice plant of E. anguliger on your website. The lemony perfume of the flowers is wonderful. I am waiting for E. cartagense and Cryptocereus anthonyanus to bloom, both of which are said to be intensely scented at night. If you're interested, maybe we can do some swaps?
Take care and nice to meet you,
Matt
Hi Matt!
Yes, I've been growing Hoyas for 2 years now. Macgillivrayi was tre first cutting I bought. I saw a picture of it on a website and then it all started... Most of my Hoyas were cuttings when I got them except for erythrostemma, dimorpha, pachyclada, serpens, australis and mindorensis. And of course, my carnosa is old. I got that one as a cutting in 1986.
Hope your 'Massey River, Qld' will bloom soon! That clone I don't have. I think that the one which has bloomed for me is 'Pandanus Creek'. I also have 'Iron Range, Qld' and a clone that is not yet identified according to the person I bought it from.
I like Epiphyllums too but all mine are small - started also that collection about two years ago. I think you may have surfed on to the website "Karins epihobby" from my site? Sadly for me those fantastic epiphyllums are not mine... I think I'll have to translate some comments on my page into English... Embarrassing if you people think that the epiphyllums are mine, when it isn't. But I look very much forward to see flowers in my epis too soon.
But all Hoyas on my website are mine!
Lotta

Hi Lotta
Welcome, you have very beautiful Hoyas and your pictures are excellent. I always enjoy the up front, close and personal pictures.. What ever you are doing, keep it up, it's working.
Deb
Hi Lotta, and Welcome!
Looking forward to more great photos of your hoyas!
It looks as though your 2 years of hoya growing have been productive ones!
I'm sure there's plenty you could teach all of us!
Welcome Lotta!
ps. please pass on your Hoya green thumb to me! ;)
Thank you!
Today is a happy "Hoya day" - I think I have found the first peduncle ever in my H. dennisii :) It is very, very tiny, but I think it is a peduncle. I'm soooo glad!
Hi Lotta, Well, you have done really well to have your H. macgillivrayi 'Pandanus Creek' to flower from a cutting in only two years. Great growing! I only hope mine will flower as quickly. I purchased most of the clones late last year from David Liddle in Australia so this year will be their first full year of growth. You have inspired me, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will also be flowering next year,
Take care,
Matt
