that is a very nice plant...who was the seller? That plant makes me want to go check out Ebay for the first time! lol

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

The seller was sandyv63 and her store name is Sandys Cool Flowers. She shows a picture of the plant she will send which is pretty unusual.Usally they post a picture of a mature plant and you really don't know what your getting. This thing was packed beautifully and I gasped when I opened it. Really NICE!

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks Golgi, will check her out! I need another plant source like a hole in the head lol

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

That is a lovely plalnt- here where it is so warm my daughter grows them outside and in the spring it is wonderful to watch them pop up! You got a beautiful plant!

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks! Paid $10.50 .

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

I just tried to contact her, she has several plants that I want-but ebay can't get thru to my email-bellsouth (or bellsouth won;t let ebay in-I had to create an account at ebay) Is there another way to get in touch with her? And do you have to do the bid thing and wait until the bid is over before getting the plant?? lol I wasn't kidding about never shopping on ebay!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Tigerlily. Yes, you have to bid the highest to win it. Always ask lots of questions too before you bid to make sure you understand exactly what you are getting.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Lol I can't ask questions cause I can't set up an account cause my email server (bellsouth) won't let ebay email me! I don;t want to bid and wait...I just want the plants!!! lol Can't I just call her and tell her what I want and get a price and get her to mail the plants??? What is so hard about that?? lol I am having a hard enough time figuring out if I want to place an order with Kartuz and wait 6-7 weeks. By the time I figure that out it will have been 5 wks lol. I just want the plants!!!

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Well you all will be so proud of me!! I finally got an email from ebay and set up an account and bought my first plants. There was a "buy now" next to the plants so thats what I did!! lol. They were from Hirts Gardens in Ohio. I am almost too scared to look them up in the G watchdog lol but the ratings next to them seem ok. I'm a ebayer now!!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

ROTFLOL I am sorry but it always cracks me up when you people get your tropicals from Ohio and Kentucky. :)

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

lol whose "you people"???? You know I had expected a little pat on the back for mastering Ebay...not a kick in the butt for where they came from!! At this point I don;t care if my night blooming jasmine comes from Mars...I just want it and I want it now!!
Not to mention Miss Smartypants-you don;t have a clue where they are until you give up the credit card number.
ROTFLOL back at ya!! :) You aren't letting my plants die while you are busy inside laughing at me...are you???

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Bravo,Tigerlily! I remember how scared I was the first time I registered and bought something off e-bay.Now....be veeeerrryy careful...it can be addicting. You get kinda an adrenaline rush, right?
Gail

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks Golgi...now that's the kind of response I was looking for. Unfortunately I wasn't scared-just very confused lol...probably the only person on this planet who was by Ebay! I went and looked at Hirt's Garden in the watchdog-it wasn't very good :( . the last few entries didn't sound promising. If the plants look really bad I think I should send them to Badseed...don't you??? :)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh no ma'am! Your plants are getting big and fat and green while I sit here. :) I hit them with some Mighty Plant yesterday and they might even get Peter's today. I have to get a bunch transplanted then see what's next on the agenda. I'm down to four kids since hubby took two and went to the other house today. bwah ha ha ha

Bucyrus, OH(Zone 6a)

Tigerlilly,

I've dealt with Hirt's before. They're good folks. :)

NICE SELECTION..

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow .....I just got my order from Hirt's and it was very nice. All the plants were rooted well, large size and packed well. I would order from them again!

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Phew! So glad they were nice,Tigerlily. It would be awful if your first experience on ebay was a bad one.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

lol really! I just placed an order on there for some other things I think I got the hang of this!!! This could be bad :)

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

very very bad.....LOL!!

Hi,
Just thought I would tell you one of my favorite e-bay sellers is aroidgrowers. Check him out, you may even see some plants like cannas,ee's, alocasia and other tropicals you see on DG. I have this great momma wanda canna I got from him.(Brian).
I have lots of plants I got from e-bay and most were real nice plants. But be really careful its totally addicting. I get plants in the mail I forgot I ordered. My DH just shakes his head.

lol going to check it out now!! I don;t know whether to keep the references coming or not!! It is better to order from an unknown if someone here has already and can say good things about them tho.
Am looking for plumeria cuttings-so many choices lol I could be on that site forever. The scary thing is that my crop is over in late May and I will have 2 months off-maybe my computer will break.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Linda, I could not find aroidgrowers on Ebay when I did a search. Do you think they are still in business?

Concord, CA(Zone 9a)

He is still in business, go to e-bay go to community, there is a box that says enter user ID type in aroidgrower. That will take to him.
Good luck

jltbaw sounds like your husband and mine were made from the same mold. Every time I get a new plant in the mail he just shakes his head and says 'now what have you got'. When I was in Sugar Land Tx. visiting my son I got a package in the mail and he told me he opened it so if my new plant needed watering he would do it so it didn't die before I got home. What was in the package was the Mighty Plant that I had ordered from the coop that was held here. He didn't realize that I was very careful not to have any plants delivered during the time I was gone. But I thought it was real sweet of him anyway.

That is too funny. My DH is home all day (retired) and I work full time. So there is no sneaking plants although I still try. If I get them at work getting them to the back yard is a challange. If I do manage it he always asks and I just say I've had that plant forever. Its sort of silly of me he never minds as long as I keep all my plants, pots, soil, fert etc out of the garage. Thats his space.
I think he secretly likes all the plants.
Sounds like 2 peas in a pod.

My husband fishes a lot. In tournaments not with the big boys but big small ones. Like he was gone yesterday and I went to Wichita to do some nursery hopping, and spend around $120. But to me that was free money. He had won about 2 tournaments and he always shares his winnings with me. That is what I had left after my Houston trip. But I got home before him and had everything secured in the GH. He asked me what I did yesterday and I told him, except I didn't say I bought anything and he didn't ask. But I know he wouldn't care. I am the one retired and he is still working. He is in business for himself, and doesn't work real hard at it. But he knows I enjoy my plants and he enjoys seeing them in the yard all blooming so pretty. I really think he is glad that I have finally found a hobby that I like.

Bucyrus, OH(Zone 6a)

Hirt's is a great place. They are always one of my first stops. :) I also always check Gardens Oy Vey. :)
