Pictures from prior shots

Has anyone had this problem. Several times I have taken pictures and transferred them to my computer through a card reader. This has happen on different computers. When the pictures come up in the folder they look like the ones that I took several days ago. Once I blow up the pictures the are the correct ones. (Different than the thumbnail picture) If you had the same problem do you know how to correct?
