Here is my first sight of H. sp. IML 1420. Lovely golf ball size umbel...sorry it isn't very clear....
New Bloom
OOOhhhh pretty! How does it smell?
Kissing cousin of H. finlaysonii?
Ah, another beauty!
Gorgeous!!!
Very pretty.
Patti
Ah yes looks very much like a finlaysonii. Really pretty Carol. Is there any set rule on how many hoya's a person can have? I may need this one....
Carol, that is great! Will this one last very long? Aren't the finlaysonii short bloomers?
Heather
Well, the scent isn't H. finlaysonii-ish at all...spicier. Looks like the umbel is on it's way out...24-48 hours at best...but the leaves are really interesting and it makes for a nice plant. There are multiple umbels so maybe that makes up for it.
David Liddle says that it does belong to the same group as H. finlaysonii, as well as H. sp. Nong Nooch and the otheres...but it hasn't been all put together yet!
There is an expression I have modified: "No one can be too tan, too rich or have too many hoyas".
Christine, your to funny.. I only have two house plants left that are not hoya, a ficus tree and a aloe.. I left all my pothos in the house we left last year, and gave a couple to my son, and oooops a couple of them croaked..... yes I may have had something to do with it!!!! Oh good then I will just keep on ordering hoya's, getting tan, and money, what the heck is that ??? Then it's final.... I need this hoya.
Carol, when you have a chance, can you take a shot of the leaves on this one. Thanks Tami

Having just gotten back from a week in the Riviera Maya, I have the tan! So then......how does one go about acquiring "lots of money" AAANNNDD "lots of hoyas"? In my life, the two are mutually exclusive! =0)
Welcome back Betsy, I already have a permanent tan all I need is the money. Show me the money!!
Blessings,
Awanda
Wow, I love that leaf. Welcome back Betsy! Did you have a great time or what??
Heather
OH WOW, Betsy...Were you in Tulum or nearby!!! Here I live in Hawaii and don't have a tan...too many mosquitos! and no time for the beach!!!
Carol you are having a wonderful bloomin year. Guess it's worth all
those mosquitos to live in paradise and enjoy all the beautiful blooms.
It must take you a while to visit all your beautiful babies and check them out daily. Sounds pretty wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
Deb
Had to come back in and check this beauty out. Hello My Flower....
The H. erythrostemma has been on my want list for a long time. I don't know why I forget to order it. Darn, here we go again. You already have this hoya don't you Carol? Oh well at least thats one more noid ID...
H. latifolia is huge. And what wonderful leaves. Hmmm I suppose I could move the dinning table out.
Or you could use the leaf to cover it!!!
Oh never thought of that. Heck of an idea !!!
I need a payment plan !!!!

O.K. I received my IML 1420, what are the care requirments for this beauty, anything special? Picture to follow when I get unlazy enough to load all the new photo's........
Repeat step 11 !!!!!
I don't treat it any differently than the rest of the H. finlaysonii, of which sp. 1420 is probably related to. Indirect bright light, lose potting soil and water when getting dry... It is a real trooper!!
Mandolins and love songs seem to please it...not much salt but no caffeine! LOL
Carol
