Finally I have some blooms..We dug these crocuses about 2 years ago and this year they are really great..we even have some new babies...As you can see by the wire the deer love them to..
YIPEE!!! First Blooms
Ohhhhh, very pretty! Congrats on your first spring flush. --Ginny
Oh nice. I love crocuses and our have just about finished in Ottawa. Glad you are able to devise a way to keep the deer away.

Absolutely lovely. Are those the native crocuses, they look so big? I hope the fur on them keeps them warm when you get that skiff of snow they were predicting for you. Nah, you probably won't get it, right?
Now they say spring to me :)......none are in my garden so I'll have to look for them in the countryside.
Echoes, yes they are native to Alberta and I actually dug them from along the roadside..When I got them there was only 5 plants so they have really multiplied...They are telling us there is a possibility of snow for here this weekend..I will be covering my babies if that happens.
Lilypon I agree that is Spring to me too..
Beautiful! Way to go!!
:) Donna
The crocuses in the off leash park we go to every day are just starting to come out - it is a 'natural' park (i.e. the city does nothing to it ) and when they are all out the park is a sheen of pale purple.
