Hi,
I bought this plant at HD yesterday. It was labeled Hoya Carnosa. It has white speckles all over the leaves. The leaves are not very big either. The longest ones are about 1/2 the length of my little finger I don't believe it label right, but I am a newbie to hoyas I could be wrong. Just don't tell my hubby I said that. LOL

Need Id
Rose, it looks to be H. lacunosa. Very pretty plant.
Tami...you are too right! It is H. lacunosa!
So that's what you were trying to explain to me on the phone last night!
Cool!
Susan
Thank you Tami and Carol for the identification.

Oh that's a GREAT HOYA SCORE! Looks so lush and healthy! Good job!
Wow - nice score!!!
You have a lovely plant there Patti, great find! I just love the small leaves on the lacunosa, and the flowers are just so beautiful and tiny.
While Home Depots in Canada have fairly good gardening centres, if I ever find a hoya at one of them, its always H.Carnosa Tricolor (Krimson Queen) - never varies. However, I found one in February that has leaves roughly 1/3 the size of mine at home. I'm hoping they stay that way-so far it hasn't even grown.

Oh, agreed, great find, Patti!
This is one of my most reliable bloomers, and nicely scented too (as long as there's just one or two umbels!)
What size is the basket?
Thanks everyone.
It's a six inch pot Nan.
Christine, Do you have a picture of your new find? I would really like to see it.
Patti
Looking forward to seeing it Christine. :o)

Rose, great hoya. I bought one about 2 months ago and on Saturday, I cut it all back. It seems like it had been overwatered and I repotted it. Then on Saturday, I went through and cut off all of the stems. Looked like it wasn't growing any. I cut it all the way back to where I got hoya blood. Hope this was okay.

Heather.
Thanks,
I am a newbie to hoya., so I can't give advice on cuttiing or not. If I have an question I just come here or call Susan. How is your Hoya doing now? I hope well.
Patti
Lovely, Patti. It's so healthy looking. You did good!
Shirley
Thanks Shirley. :O)

As promised, here's a picture of what I'm calling my "dwarf Krimson Queen". That is a quarter on the leaf for comparison. The leaves are 1/3 the size of my "regular" Krimson Queen, and just so cute! Does anybody know if its just stunted or if it's a new cultivar? The two that I got are in 2" pots and I still see no roots coming from the bottom, so they couldn't have been planted very long before I got them in Feb. Thanks.
Christine
Great find, and very pretty Christine.

Christine....that's 'unusual looking'....kinda/sorta like the (plain green) one I posted a while back!
Doesn't look like your 'usual' CQ to me!
That's what I thought too Nan - while the leaves are the right shape, there's not as much variegation in them, and they're uniformly smaller. In fact, the variegation reminds me more of my h.compacta regalis. I actually bought two of these, both in tiny little pots, and once I see roots coming out the bottom I'll plant them together. Wonder how long it'll take to bloom.....
Hopefully sooner than later....then you'll be closer to your ID!
The leaves look 'rounder' that the usual to me??
I'm patiently waiting for that NOID of mine to bloom, too, to see if mine (and others' suspicions are right)!
