Here is a fascinating place that concentrates on the basic skills of homesteading in demonstrations and classes. I'm not close enough to take classes, but hope to tour it soon.

A Candidate for Your "To Visit" List
Thanks Yuska.....looks like it is worth a visit. If you are ever in New England there is a place near the Mass. state line that demonstrates crafts like these......Sturbridge Village.
Keith
I visited Sturbridge Village many years ao, and have a candle sconce made from one of the wooden yarn separators (the precise name of which escapes me at the moment) that was used with the looms when the woolen mills were operating in New England. It is indeed a fascinating place and I would enjoy another visit.
Thanks, Yuska. That's too far for me to visit.
Another interesting place is Earthaven Eco-Village

Most of the classes I attended at the NC organic growers seminar were taught by people from earthaven.
Thanks yuska
I will try and make it up there next year maybe find the time and take some classes.
