Looking for true French Tarragon, rooted cutting or division

Mullins, SC(Zone 8a)

Artemisia dranunculus var. sativus, the true French tarragon for culinary use. Not available from seed, only rooted cuttings or root divisions.
I have some things I could trade, daylily Big Smile or true perennial Strawberry Foxglove or a couple of white Peruvian Daffodil bulbs (planted in a pot right now and starting to sprout), clump of thyme...clump of chives...clump of walking onions...oodles of yellow unnamed iris...cuttings of verbena Homestead Purple that have rooted to the ground....postage or stamps...

Thanks!

I have tarragon but I'm not sure if it's the one you're looking for. I'll look to see if there's a tag when I get home and I'll let you know. The one I have has wider leaves and it seems to be pretty hardy. :)

Hi beccalynns,
Thanks for the response! I hope it's the right one LOL I have one I bought and then found out that most tarragon sold at garden centers is the inferior russian type and if it doesn't say var. sativus on the tag it's not the true french culinary type. I found the french for sale at a couple of places online but shipping is atrocious for one tiny plant and I thought I'd try here first instead. I'd rather pay that shipping for a good trade and two people end up being happy over it LOL

i did have tarragon of some kind-tall with small flowers
id say close to 4ft-not sure if i have any left as i have been pulling all herbs
if you are interested let me know and i will go look and see.

Diana-
I just went to look at it and of course there's no tag. :( I'm not sure to tell whether it's the russian kind or the french variety that you're looking for. The leaves are definitely not threadlike and I've never seen it bloom even though all of my other herbs have bloomed where they are so I don't know if that helps with identifying it at all LOL.

Thanks everybody for trying to help me. I went ahead and ordered one to make sure I get the correct variety. I wouldn't have a clue as to knowing the russian from the french as far as looks go LOL from what I read they look almost identical and the difference is in the taste and scent. Maybe this one will grow quickly and I can then share with others :)
Thanks again!

I just saw your message. I have a very large French Taragon plant that I've given pieces of to several people. I'd be more than happy to send you a piece of it if you still want one. I'm leaving in the morning to go to Arkansas for about a week but I'll check as soon as I get back to see if you'd like me to send you some. Once you have it established, it gets quite large and vigorous. It's a very pretty foliage plant in it's own right. I'm very happy with it.

Audrey thank you so much but I already ordered one plus have a couple pieces coming in trade as well. I do appreciate the offer so much though!
