Violet Gallery

Did anyone place an order with Violet Gallery ?
I placed mine Jan 04 . I think I may get it today as they emailed me my order was shipped ! Yippee ! I can't wait. Hope pictures get fixed soon.
Did anyone else place an order. Anyone have their order on the way !

Well I bragged and bragged about my order of plants I got from Violet Gallery last Fall. And could not wait all Winter to place an order. I placed my order Jan 4th.
The plants I paid for 15 plants $5.75 each and three sets of leaves for $ 2.25 each
I'm not really happy with the quality of any of the plants but asked for credit for ;
Lil' Ballerinia, Lil's Dutch Girl, Goldilocks , Tiny Gypsy .
These were not plants, plantlets more like nickel size suckers lost in the dirt. I am glad they were all completely dry this way the dirt was not clingy like mud. But so small then leaves broken off what's so small . Leaves so small you barely could see. lol
I ordered Rainbow's Weeping Clown one, they gave me two .
Rainbows Weeping Pixie was missing.
I ordered Blueberries ' N Cream Trailer ( They were out last fall and all I had grown I gave away )
Well they did not have the plant so they sent me leaves. BUT not leaves of Blueberries N' Cream but a girl foliage that looked just like the leaf Laurie sent me Biscayne Trail . lol Blueberries n' Cream is variegated not even girl foliage.
I'm sorry I would never send any of you plants this small or quality , condition.. . I am very disappointed.
I'm not ordering anymore plants .
Took us about an hour to gently open them all. I was so excited to get my box.
I have not even put my leaves down :( My head hurts I just wanted to put my feet up and rest.

RATS! such a bummer! I hope you get a refund. I'm sure you would have rather waited another month than get a box of microscopic plantlets!

Oh my gosh yes. I placed the order Jan 4th. I would have waited two more months for real plants/plantlets, babies any in this catorgory.
My head is so sad.
Though I am not 100 percent happy with my order of 15 plants 3 sets of leaves. I am asking for refund of 5 plants ( one which was missing) and one set of leaves. I am being fair as these are not suitable for shipping and will not make it. I'm luckt I fount them in the dirt. lol

Gosh Allison, I'm getting to the point that I'm afraid to order from anyone! You haven't been really happy with the last several orders you've received, have you? And for good reason, it sounds like. I'm so sorry you're having such bad luck with the plants you're receiving.
Another reason I worry about placing an order is that I can't imagine that any place I could order plants from would send beauties like you do! I think you've spoiled all of us! LOL
I hope you get the refund or *real* plants for the ones you asked for credit for.

Thank you. I could never imagine sending anybody plants ( I don't even want to call them plants their more like small unrooted suckers fount in the dirt. lol
to anyone. I am praying they will refund what I am asking. Ten of the plants are fair/still not what I would send out but I did not complain about them as they are alive, and I think I can grown them out.

Thing is I picked my order really careful. On girl leaves and Vintage and really was wanting these plants.

Allison...I ordered mine on January 14 and have not heard anything yet. I spent over $80 for plants and shipping and I am now hoping and praying they better arrive in good condition. Will let you know when they arrive. I ordered:

Bewitching Blue, Georgia Melon, Golden Plume, Iceberg, kismet, Marina, Penny Lover, Stormy Rage, Wild Irish Rose, Vintage Wine, Ukranian Winter, and Ma's Corsage.

You may have better luck than I as my standard's were small but ok. My girl's and minatures were the real problems.
The foliage was not clean and healthy looking like I'm use to.
Last year I bought plants from them they were real nice. Last year I got Georgia Melon, it was nice and big I share lot's of leaves. But I could never get it to bloom. I final took all the leaves off put them down and had a crown left. Now it has a bud. lol

Well, drat. I am so sorry. It is a bummer, I know. I don't doubt that you can make most of them grow, though. : ) You do have the touch, you know. Let us know how the refund goes.

I got my Rob's order today. I was pretty happy with the plants. They did have a few broken leaves, which was kind of sad, but expected. The ones for the bunny trade look good, so I was glad about that. They were expertly packed. I did mention that I had not had very good luck with varigated AVs, so they sent me some. I thought that was pretty strange. I got the $35/10 plants special. One of them is super light varigated. I hope I can keep him alive. He's in good shape, just so pale...kind of like yellow.

Work has been pretty busy, so I have not posted much lately. Tomorrow is Friday. woo hoo! : ) Have a good evening. Pam

I only had one plant like dead with Violet Barn and Rob refunded me. I think they knew it should have not gone out.
I'd rather wait a month or two to get a plantlet with roots. You can't save something when there is nothing to save.
I did buy 15 plants , one missing , 4 need refund and one leaf order wrong leaf sent. But I feel when your paying $5.75 a plant and $ 2.50 a set of leaves plus shipping they should be attacted in their pots, have roots, and be alive. The others I think I can get healthy and growing ! Just you pay over a hundred $$
and I ordered Jan 4th I rather wait till Jan. to get a good size baby plant.

Eww...that sounds bad. I have only gotten plants like that one time. Even on that shipment (from an individual) most were good, but three were like that. I did not even try to save them. Right in the ol' dumper.

Yes some are so bad no sense wasting your time trying to save something that has nothing to it to begin with :(( I am so sad as last year their plants were so nice at $4.75 each now they went up to $5.75 each not one a blooming size. When some of the ones I bought from them last year were blooming and have never stopped.
I was so disappointed. I try my best to send people plants the kind I would want to get :)) If I don't like it I throw it away I don't send it to someone.

Oh, so sorry to hear your were disappointed in your order. Drat!! I'll make a note of which ones you had to ask refunds on, and who knows, maybe they'll have some better plants next month. I have the distinct advantage of being able to drive up and pick out / pick up my plants in person, so if a variety in my order doesn't look good, I figure I will just change my mind and get something else... we'll see how that works out, as I haven't pre-ordered from them before.

She said sorry I was not happy with my order.
The plants in the Fall are big as they have been growing another six months. They don;t ship out until the end of May but thought she'd do ma a favor ( which I never asked for early I would have waited three more months) by shipping them early.
She made me feel like I did not know what I was talking about . Miniatures are small and don't get big.
I had explained to her that these 4 plants were suckers lost in the soil with no roots. One plants was missing I paid for. And One set of leaves were wrong.
She/He says they are going to refund me 1/3 the amount I paid for my order $ 45.00 today.
She said she did pull leaves off of Blueberries N' Cream herself and does not know how I got girl foliage ?? I do know what a girl looks like and I have grown several Blueberries N' Cream and know what a variegated plain pointed leaf looks like. So someone in their busy day put them into the wrong bag with the wrong label ?
I offered her pictures and told her there is nothing to save.
She said " Like the small suckers burried in dirt sent to me I will be growing and enjoying them ???
Hi Allison, I'm sorry you're disappointed with the order. Our plants are larger in the fall, because they've had an extra 6 months to grow. We time our plants to be the proper size to be shipped beginning toward the end of May. We start with the same size plants every year. Since the weather moderated early, we thought we might be doing you a favor by shipping early and not making you wait an extra month. Oh well....at least we had good intentions. Please remember, that any violet with "teeny" or "tiny" in it's name isn't going to get very large. It sounds like you are unhappy with about 1/3 of your order. I'll will refund $45, which is well over 1/3 of what you paid for your order. I just ask that every time you look at and enjoy your violets (even the small ones) that you do something nice for someone .

I told her if these was plant to save or even a couple leaves to put down I would not be asking for a refund for them. One of the plants I paid for did not even arrive in my box . Even though I paid $ 5.75 for each plant plus shipping, if the plant was in poor condition and could be saved, or if I could even save a leaf or two to grow a plant I would have never asked for a refund.
I am going to email me next order in waiting from LL to check on their size and I don't mind waitng :))

You might add, please wait to ship until the plants are ". . . " (you fill in the size you would like them.)

Oh, how very disappointing! Even the refund doesn't really make up for that. Did you leave feedback on the watchdog?

I don't like the sarcasm in her response to you! The nerve! I wouldn't order again. Was that the owner/manager? If not, then I would contact that person.

Hello Allison, I hate to hear of anyone sending you inferior plants you deserve better your motto is to send plants that people enjoy. I lived close to granger gardens in the 60's till they closed I was not satisfied with some other growers plants for a while grangers were husky plants. The first of february I recieved a order the same from another vendor the plants were too small to root the broken leaves just a few leaves hardly a center, many broken leaves I kept only one plant of 8 it is lagging in growth.The optimara's used to be named rhapsodie once out of bloom months passed except Elfredie for me before there was another bloom, I am just about to find the day the optimara's come into the store/greenhouse help to open the box and grow them for far less money and great satifaction a named variety that is stunted, and bad leaves is not worth more to me than a grocery store/ walmart violet. Be encouraged hopefully there are better days ahead. morganberg

I have a good feedback in DG's from Fall but will add in my new one.
It's so sad to get these plants . Then if some credit or re-ship we pay shipping again. Or if we get credit we lost shipping. And then stuck with no plants.
Many times I keep a plant trying to save it for it only to die. Like last month wanting Russian plants I also bought a trailer so small was told I'd have to let it grow out. Grow what out ? There was not much to grow out. It died. So your out $5.00 here, $20.00 there, another $ 10.00 here and no plants :((. I don't know about you but our income is under 12K a year with medical problems and I skipmed and saved 4 months in order to get good quality plants from Violet Gallery. I did not mind their price went up . I wanted and need good quality. I don't have the time to let them grow out. I want and need and expect healthy plants today.
Am I so wrong to expect this ?
Yes I enjoy growing by leaf and sharing my babies. But I can buy leaves to grow out~
