I am new to gardening especially for my zone, I have been stalking a tree for a couple of years now. Being in SLC, Utah I never thought I would see a fig tree blooming and bearing fruit. Until a client told me about this fig tree - the owner wraps it up for winter and unwraps for spring - YEAH its unwrapped. Sure sign of spring - this gardener has had this tree for a long time (its obvious by its size) and obviously knows what he is doing. Hoping one of these days I will have the guts to stop and talk to him, I am sure that he is a wealth of information for my adopted zone/area. Just a tad socially phobic.
Besides the tulips and daffodils coming up - what are your favorite/best indicators that spring has sprung?
Finally a true sign of spring
An early indicator is the plum trees budding up. Then the peaches are blooming, the bees are busy, and the grass needs mowing.
