WATER WATER EVERYWHERE!!!

San Antonio, TX

I usually just read these chat sessions with a chuckle here and there. I am going to jump in tonight and give you guys a hopefull funny. Loving plants and animals,(I forgive the Coral snake killer, you know not what you do!). It has been so dry and water scarce, the birds and wildlife around here in San Antonio sure get thirsty. I am also a Wildlife Rehabilitator. There is a federal release site that we use for the deer, rabbits, birds, squirrels, SNAKES, etc, etc, etc. We take turns trucking water to the site because the natural pond has dried up. The other day I was on my way with the water truck to the compound and saw a bunch of birds following the truck. They started landing on the truck and then coming into the cab. By the time I got to the gate, I had many close freinds helping me drive. The flock was unbelievable. Just as I swung the gate open a baby barn owl landed right on my head. It's wings were wrapped around my head like a flap cap. I love nature of all kinds but that was a little too close to the talons. Once I dumped the 1000 gallons of water in the pond. Just like all fair weather friends, they left.
