I have a large pond in the back but wanted a smaller one in the courtyard in front. The courtyard has concrete or extruded curbing around the beds and did have grass all through the center of the courtyard.
The grass is gone and one of the beds cleaned out for a small water fall but I was having a hard time deciding just what I wanted there. The rest of the courtyard will have sandstone with ground cover inbetween them.
I found only one software for building ponds specifically. Now I am having a great time placing various ponds on pictures I have on a CD with my computer. I have never done this before.
