Last month I posted a thread on my first experience buying from Kartuz greenhouse. Just to refresh your memory, I was upset because I had ordered Plum Gorgeous and didn't recieve it. Instead, I got Carribean Corsair. This begonia wasn't on my sub list. The thing that really upset my wasn't the mistake. When I called the greenhouse to see why this had happened, the employee that I spoke with was extremely rude to me. At first he tried to convince me that Plum Gorgous and C. Corsair looked exactly alike. I disagreed with him, and that got me nowhere. He asked me how much my order was. When I told him the amount he said "Oh, you had a small order" and agreed to send me a Plum Gorgeous if I ordered from them again.
When I posted my thread, several of you here at Dave's Garden said that I should leave feedback on the Watchdog site. I think it was Laurie and Joolz that said you know Mike Kartuz and believe him to be a nice man that would be concerned about some of the negative experiences that several people have had recently with the greenhouse. I do not know If someone spoke with him about this or if he read my feedback on the Watchdog site but this past week I recieved a package in the mail. It was Plum Gorgeous and along with it was a very nice letter of apology. He explained to me what he thought happened but made no excuses for the bad customer service. For this he was very sorry and offered his belated apology. I also recieved a similar letter from Bill the Propagations and Website Administrator. Not only did I finally get my Plum Gorgeous but they noticed where I was over charged and sent me a refund.
I just wanted to post a new response. I want to be fair and take the opportunity to say that even though at first I had some problems with Kartuz greenhouse, they have gone the extra mile I feel to correct their mistake. Also, I want to say that the quality of the plants were great. I recieved very healthy, large plants with no broken leaves that were packaged very well. All of them are doing great with rapid growth. So, I feel confident that when I order from them again I will recieve good customer service and no question, healthy plants. Also, I went on the Watchdog site and left updated feedback.

That's terrific Kristi! The same thing happened with Lorry who was the other person with the real bad experience! By all means go and update your comments in Watchdog. You can add additional info and I think, but am not sure, that you can change your rating as well.
I think it's great that they are taking care of the problems! Makes me reconsider ordering!
I'm glad to read this too, as I've ordered plants from Kartuz in the past and was always happy with them, so was confused to read about the recent 'bad experiences' of others.
I also had some direct communication w/Mr. Kartuz and agree that he's a good person, and have spoken to others who've said the same.
Glad to hear you received your coveted Plum Gorgeous......is she, indeed, 'Plum Gorgeous'??? LOL

Thanks for the update. I had decided not to order from them because of your experience and Lorry's, but may reconsider now.
So, where's the picture of Plum Gorgeous :-)
