Hi,
Is Hoya Serpens a slow grower? I bought several tiny starter plants from Rob's Violets last Fall and all but this one are taking off with new growth. It's doing absolutely nothing but sitting there looking at everyone else!

For some people serpens grows like weed for others like me it just doesn't want to grow well.
I had a small pot full of serpens and it slowly started to die off no matter what I did. Not too long ago I was left with just one leaf with a bit of stem on it and now suddenly this little left over started to get new growth.
Moral of the Hoya story, don't give up until the last leaf dies :)

I have a small pot of Serpens that I've had for about 6 months....not a single new leaf - - nothin'. But it hasn't died, either, so it's hangin' in there.
Then about 2 weeks ago I noticed a bunch of new shoots sticking straight up out of the pot! Keeping my fingers crossed that it knows it's spring and time to GROW!
I got a serpens from Logee's last summer. It didn't grow at all. A month ago I repotted it. It was rooted in one of those peat plugs. I carefully got as much of peat off of it and repotted it in a looser mix. Now that little sucker is taking off!!

I have one stem left of some cuttings gifted to me last year.
It didn't do well for me at all, potted, (most of it died off) so I mounted it on a piece of cork with sphagnum attached.
(I had read that it prefers good air circulation)
Mine is actually growing, too! Hope I can keep it that way!
Is this one the little tiny hoya that does good in terrariums ? I think my sister has this one, that she keep s by her sink and it does pretty good.

When I stuck mine in the shade where it gets rained on a lot...it grows like a madwoman!!! No blooms yet, tho...yes, and outside it gets a breeze....
